Ambassador Shaan signed the book of condolence opened at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Berlin, following the tragic incident in Kočani.

Minister of Tourism and Environment, Thoriq Ibrahim met with a team from the German Travel Association at ITB 2025.

Minister was accompanied by Ambassador Aishath Shaan, Managing Director of MMPRC, Ibrahim Shiuree and representatives of the Maldives tourism industry.

In the meeting, the Minister assured that Germany and German speaking market remain highly important for Maldives. He also stated that Maldives will continue to work with all partners to facilitate the expansion of this market and ensure an exceptional experience for every visitor.

Discussions also focused on facilitating the expansion of European markets, and enhancing visitor experience.

Minister of Tourism and Environment, Thoriq Ibrahim and representatives of the Maldives tourism industry hosted the Visit Maldives Seminar at ITB 2025.

Speaking at the Seminar, the Minister highlighted key tourism related initiatives and policies by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu , and ongoing efforts to expand and develop the tourism sector.

He said that the focus remains on sustainable growth, investment, and strengthening destination positioning. He also highlighted on the importance of building on the past, learning from those experiences, and looking towards the future of the Maldives' tourism industry.

In addition, he also remarked that the Next Chapter of Maldives tourism will continue the successful government-industry partnership, harnessing technological developments, and delivering on the unique and exceptional visitor experience that the Maldives is renowned for, all over the world.
