Ambassador Shaan met the Director of Asia Division at German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Mr Marcus Lange, on Friday, 11 July 2025.

Discussions focused on development cooperation avenues for the Maldives and Germany, and opportunities in key priority areas for both the Governments.

Ambassador Shaan and Mr Lange also expressed their keen interest to reinvigorate the partnership, especially as the next year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Germany.

The Embassy staff participated at the Bundestag Run 2025 held on 9 July 2025, under the motto "Running against high blood pressure". This is an annual run organized by Bundestag’s Sports Association.

Ambassador Shaan signed the book of condolence opened at the Embassy of the Republic of Peru in Berlin on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, following the demise of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, José García Belaúnde.
