The Embassy of Maldives in Berlin hoisted the national flag at the Embassy, to mark the 60th anniversary of Maldives’ Independence.

Ambassador Shaan attended a briefing held at the Bundeswehr Joint Forces Command in Berlin, organized by Ambassadors Club e.V., on Friday, 18 July 2025.

This briefing was an opportunity for the Ambassadors to engage with leaders of the command, as Germany focuses more on increasing its defence capabilities.

Ambassador Shaan met the Director of Asia Division at German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Mr Marcus Lange, on Friday, 11 July 2025.

Discussions focused on development cooperation avenues for the Maldives and Germany, and opportunities in key priority areas for both the Governments.

Ambassador Shaan and Mr Lange also expressed their keen interest to reinvigorate the partnership, especially as the next year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and Germany.
